Booking Hotel Accommodations for the 2015 RRM
Trainees (students, postdoctoral fellows and research staff): your RRM registration fee includes shared accommodations for Friday night. When registering, you will be asked to list a preferred roommate. Roommates will be assigned by the conference, honoring preferences whenever possible.
PIs and sponsors: your RRM meeting registration fee does not include accommodations. You will be responsible for booking your own rooms at Sawmill Creek. A block of rooms have been set aside at a special rate of $109.00 plus tax. Reservations can be made by calling the hotel at 419-433-3800 (prompt #1 registration) and referencing the 2015 Rustbelt RNA Meeting.
If you are interested in arriving a day before the 2015 RRM or extending your stay at Sawmill Creek Resort after the meeting, please contact Sawmill Creek at the number above. The special room rates are available for three days before and after the meeting.
Room Sharing at the 2015 RRM
Hotel accommodations are provided by the RRM to trainees who attend the meeting. Trainees will be asked to share a hotel room with another trainee. Hotel rooms include two double beds and amenities for two people. Trainees can indicate on their registration form if they have a preference of whom they would like to share a room with.
If a trainee is opposed to sharing a hotel room, they are asked to indicate this on their registration form and to contact the RRM co-chairs. They will then be invited to book their own accommodations separately through Sawmill Creek
Child care
For attendees potentially interested in traveling to Rust Belt with young children, Sawmill Creek has worked for many years with the Sandusky-based, fully licensed and bonded, childcare service Kidz On The Move (see them on Facebook). If interest is sufficient (a 10 child minimum, infants through 12 years old) we will be able to arrange on-site childcare services at Sawmill Creek during conference sessions at a reasonable cost. Please contact Charles Hoogstraten directly as soon as possible, but by the registration deadline in any case, for details or to place your children's name on the list for this service.
